Landing on Mars

NASA just landed its rovers on Mars.

Expensive curiosity hobby scientist wish to satisfy;
while on earth, we cannot conquer the COVID-19.
We cannot eliminate poverty, and we do not even try
to care sincerely for our environment to be clean.
For some planet earth is not enough:
They are eagerly looking for new frontiers:
life in Jupiter, the moon and Mars.
Why another planet? Our earth. we barely know.
Is it for military power and world dominance?
Perhaps, we have here a life that is too rough,
with many problems, and too many tears.
Would there be peace there among the starts,
who can tell us why they need  to go?
Our lives, as humans, can have a better chance.
Do scientist know something we do not?
Why? When we do not even know ourselves.
Perhaps there’s a reason they need to leave.
Will humans find there, equality, love  and peace?
The kind of peace we here on earth need a lot;
but not symbols of those we display on shelves.
Why not give thanks for what we receive
Tell us, why they need to land on Mars, please.
We need on earth tranquility, welfare, for us all.
So, why waste our precious daily bread and honey.
We need to free our learning, our higher education.
We need to secure a worldwide sustained health.
We need to manage our Fall, winter, our seasons,
but not a trip to Mars and watch Earth from above.
We do not need to commercialize the sky at all;
we do not need to live solely for money,
and we need not let aloof our self-pretension
nor we should make our life’s purpose wealth.
There are neither justifications nor real reasons
for not making our purpose Truth and Love.
